We are still working on her name, so stay tuned!

About Us

Island Girl Excursions is a family-run business. Capt. Eamonn Solway has spent a lifetime on the water. Eamonn is a paramedic and carpenter as well. From family time exploring Menemsha Pond to fishing derby days, Eamonn just loves to be out there!

Becca is a lifelong educator and naturalist, who has been sharing her love for the nature of Martha’s Vineyard with children and adults for over 20 years. Currently a STEM teacher at the West Tisbury School, Becca previously worked at Mass Audubon’s Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary.

Island Girl Excursions and our former boat, the Island Girl, were named after our daughter, Lyla, which means “of the island” in French. Our son, Eben, occasionally serves as first mate, and always brings a smile!
